How to take key of keychain?

Removing the key from the keychain depends on the type of keyring you are using. Here are the most common methods:

 

1. Standard Split Key Ring (Metal Wire Loop Ring)

Steps:

Locate the opening in the key ring.

Use your fingernail or a small flat tool (such as a coin or screwdriver) to pry the loop open slightly.

Slide the key onto the first coil and wrap it around the ring until it comes off.

If it is too tight, use pliers or a key ring tool to help pry it open.

TIP: If you have difficulty with a hard loop, insert a small paper clip or butter knife to hold it open while sliding the key off.

 

2. Quick Release Key Chain (Hiking Buckle or Clip Style)

Steps:

Press or pull on the clip or latch to open it.

Slide the key out.

Release the clip to close the key chain.

TIP: These are easier to use if you change keys frequently.

 

3. Screw Lock Key Chain (Cable Ring or Locking Mechanism)

Steps:

Unscrew the lock on the end of the cable or ring.

Pull the cable apart to create an opening.

Remove the key and screw the lock back into place.
