How much glue on fingerboard deck?

The glue between the deck and the tape or veneer determines the performance of your mini fingerboard. Too little glue results in poor adhesion and easy peeling. Conversely, too much glue can cause the veneer to become messy, warp, and have an uneven surface. Therefore, an even, thin coating of glue is key. 

How Much Glue Should You Use on a Fingerboard Deck?

Typically, one pea-sized drop of glue is sufficient.
 
Spread the glue evenly using a flat tool (plastic card, brush, or finger wrapped in plastic wrap).
 
Avoid thick clumps; the glue should not overflow excessively when pressed.

Professional Glue Application Steps

1. Prepare the deck
 
Before applying glue, ensure the finger skateboard deck is clean, smooth, and dry.
 
2. Apply Sparingly
 
Begin by placing a small drop of glue at the center.
 
3. Spread Evenly
 
Extend the glue to the edges, leaving no dry gaps.
 
4. Press and Hold
 
Carefully press the grip tape into place, ensuring all air bubbles are expelled.
 
5. Remove Excess Glue
 
Immediately wipe away excess glue to prevent clumping.
 
6. Drying Time
 
Allow the adhesive to cure for at least 12-24 hours to achieve optimal strength.
 
Generally speaking, if the finger skateboard deck is 30mm wide, a pea-sized amount of glue is enough. If the deck is 32mm or 34mm, you can use a little more glue.
